Neighbourhood policing is at the heart of our approach to keeping South Wales safe. Our PCSOs and officers are proud to be integral parts of the communities they serve.
We want to ensure our neighbourhood policing is as efficient and effective as it can be, and our aim is to be the best in the country at understanding and responding to the needs and priorities of each individual community. Your local neighbourhood policing team is made up of officers and PCSOs based in your area who are both visible and accessible.
Fundamental to our model of neighbourhood policing is engaging with our communities: connecting with individuals, organisations, businesses, schools, workplaces and others; working to understand, respond to, and tackle your concerns and priorities; and putting measures in place to prevent issues from escalating – or from occurring in the first place.
By working together and focusing on early intervention, prevention and problem solving, we can find long-term solutions to local problems.

• 18 year old arrested for possession with intent to supply (PWITS) Class B drugs, possession of a bladed article and driving offences. Whilst carrying out Operation Tellima patrols in the area, officers sighted a male riding an illegal e-bike engage in a suspected drug deal. On detaining, he was found in possession of 34 deal size bags of cannabis and a lock knife. A search of his home address seen further offensive weapons seized. Illegal e-bike also seized which has since been destroyed. Actioned 15 September 2026 |

Anti-social Behaviour (St Mellons shopping precinct) Issued 15 June 2026 |
• A Crimestoppers Wales zone has been launched in St Mellons shopping district. The Crimestoppers Zones has been established to help deter criminal activity and anti-social behaviour. We have been working with Crimestoppers and Cardiff Council, to encourage the community to report incidents and concerns in these areas. It is hoped the Crimestoppers Zones will encourage those who are reluctant to contact police will instead report information or suspicions anonymously to Crimestoppers. Actioned 04 September 2026 |
