Neighbourhood policing is at the heart of our approach to keeping South Wales safe. Our PCSOs and officers are proud to be integral parts of the communities they serve.
We want to ensure our neighbourhood policing is as efficient and effective as it can be, and our aim is to be the best in the country at understanding and responding to the needs and priorities of each individual community. Your local neighbourhood policing team is made up of officers and PCSOs based in your area who are both visible and accessible.
Fundamental to our model of neighbourhood policing is engaging with our communities: connecting with individuals, organisations, businesses, schools, workplaces and others; working to understand, respond to, and tackle your concerns and priorities; and putting measures in place to prevent issues from escalating – or from occurring in the first place.
By working together and focusing on early intervention, prevention and problem solving, we can find long-term solutions to local problems.

Dunlin Court continues to be a priority for the Neighbourhood policing team are residents - our increased presence has seen an immediate impact in disrupting criminality resulting in numerous arrests including possession with intent to supply class A drugs, shoplifting , and assault. Focus on retail crime Issued 16 December 2025 |
Shoplifting continues to be a main focus for us during the next few months and with the introduction of the new Town Centre Street Warden, we aim to work with him to identify and apprehend shoplifters and further reduce crime in the area. Actioned 16 March 2026 |

We have had a focus on retail theft and prolific offenders. In the last month we have as a team arrested 7prolific offenders for shoplifting and charged them with a total of 35 different offences. Actioned 15 December 2025 |
