Neighbourhood policing is at the heart of our approach to keeping South Wales safe. Our PCSOs and officers are proud to be integral parts of the communities they serve.

We want to ensure our neighbourhood policing is as efficient and effective as it can be, and our aim is to be the best in the country at understanding and responding to the needs and priorities of each individual community. Your local neighbourhood policing team is made up of officers and PCSOs based in your area who are both visible and accessible.

Fundamental to our model of neighbourhood policing is engaging with our communities: connecting with individuals, organisations, businesses, schools, workplaces and others; working to understand, respond to, and tackle your concerns and priorities; and putting measures in place to prevent issues from escalating – or from occurring in the first place.

By working together and focusing on early intervention, prevention and problem solving, we can find long-term solutions to local problems.

We have delivered awareness campaigns on road safety at Ysgol Afon Wen. We have worked with councils on road safety improvements/ increase enforcement officer presence in the area to issues fines on vehicles parked on double yellow lines etc. We have conducted foot patrols and leaflet drops in affected communities.*I have sourced an extra car park to be utilised with the support of RCT Leisure Services which is being promoted internally in Ysgol Afon Wen with a park and stride decal initiative fore parent/guardians to display in their Vehicles which I have helped the school distribute to parents guardians and school pick up times to help educate parents on safe parking in the area and prompted the extra car park.
