Neighbourhood policing is at the heart of our approach to keeping South Wales safe. Our PCSOs and officers are proud to be integral parts of the communities they serve.
We want to ensure our neighbourhood policing is as efficient and effective as it can be, and our aim is to be the best in the country at understanding and responding to the needs and priorities of each individual community. Your local neighbourhood policing team is made up of officers and PCSOs based in your area who are both visible and accessible.
Fundamental to our model of neighbourhood policing is engaging with our communities: connecting with individuals, organisations, businesses, schools, workplaces and others; working to understand, respond to, and tackle your concerns and priorities; and putting measures in place to prevent issues from escalating – or from occurring in the first place.
By working together and focusing on early intervention, prevention and problem solving, we can find long-term solutions to local problems.

Local officers held a street surgery with residents are partner agencies at the location to educate vehicle users, and for potential solution of rear lane of Edwards terrace to be flattened by MTCBC and used as off-road parking for residents. Through enforcement action, such as FPNs, and the rear lane being resurfaced for off road parking, the public safety concerns has been greatly reduced due to vehicles no longer being parked at the location. Local officers are still patrolling the area and will take positive action where necessary. Priority Finalised. Actioned 07 September 2026 |

Letter drops and Street Briefings have been conducted at the location, with local PCSO’s, Councillors and Council enforcement officers in attendance. Several potential options were discussed on site to find a longer-term solution including land ownership (rear of properties), displacement of vehicles, traffic management options, and alternative parking options. A joint site visit will take place shortly involving Police, Highways/Traffic, Estates, Enforcement, and county Councillors. Patrols have been increased in the area and any person found to be parking on the pavement will be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice. Actioned 08 June 2026 |
