Neighbourhood policing is at the heart of our approach to keeping South Wales safe. Our PCSOs and officers are proud to be integral parts of the communities they serve.
We want to ensure our neighbourhood policing is as efficient and effective as it can be, and our aim is to be the best in the country at understanding and responding to the needs and priorities of each individual community. Your local neighbourhood policing team is made up of officers and PCSOs based in your area who are both visible and accessible.
Fundamental to our model of neighbourhood policing is engaging with our communities: connecting with individuals, organisations, businesses, schools, workplaces and others; working to understand, respond to, and tackle your concerns and priorities; and putting measures in place to prevent issues from escalating – or from occurring in the first place.
By working together and focusing on early intervention, prevention and problem solving, we can find long-term solutions to local problems.
Please note that to report a crime or incident to South Wales Police, you can visit Home | South Wales Police or in an emergency, please dial 999.

Local Priority Issues
Priority | Action taken |
---|---|
Speeding - The Meadow - Vehicles are causing concern by driving in excess of the speed limit. Issued 17 June 2025 |
This is a residential area, so local residents are spoken to. Speed scoping exercises have been conducted within the area. If subjects are identified they will be dealt with by means of ASB referrals or section 59 notices. Education also plays a big part. Schools have been visited and talks have been given on the dangers of using a vehicle in an anti-social manner. Actioned 17 June 2025 |
ASB Youths - There are on-going issues with youths causing anti-social behaviour in the area. Issued 17 June 2025 |
Calls are dealt with when they come in. We also engage with youths while out on patrols and try to steer them towards local youth clubs. If ASB is being caused they are given an ASB referral and early help is also used as an option. The houses in this area are social housing run by Wales and West, therefore we liaise with the housing officers. Actioned 17 June 2025 |
Setting fires near the Black Path Issued 17 June 2025 |
If subjects are identified they will be given ASB referrals. If damage has been caused, they can be dealt with via the Youth Bureau. There are also referrals that can be made to the Fire Service so they can engage with any youths who are involved in setting fires. We carry out patrols and if subjects are not identified ASB referrals for location are submitted to highlight the issues. Actioned 17 June 2025 |
