Neighbourhood Policing is at the heart of our approach to keeping South Wales safe. Your local team is made up of officers and PCSOs based in this area who are both visible and accessible.
We work closely with residents, community leaders, the local authority and other partners to understand and respond to community concerns. By working together and focussing on early intervention, prevention and problem solving we can find long-term solutions to local problems.

We are working with colleagues from other departments to identify areas that are being targeted to increase patrols in those locations. We will be increasing both high visibility and plain clothes patrols over the summer months. Delivering crime prevention messaging at all our events on how to keep vehicles safe. Concerns have been raised by local residents of perception of bikes being used in drug dealing activity, as well as the general nuisance of off road riding on green spaces and on the road causing annoyance Issued 17 June 2025 |
Gathering intelligence from the community is a priority to identify those riding these bikes. We have a period of intensification through the summer to target these individuals. Actioned 17 June 2025 |

Speed scoping exercises are being conducted in the areas of concern and this also means a high visibility presence. Should retrieved data highlight an issue, GO SAFE WALES will be notified for potential implementation of mobile speed camera. Working with Cardiff Council traffic wardens in areas that are highlighted as causing concerns with a view to provide information to local councillors to petition for double yellow lines.
