Neighbourhood policing is at the heart of our approach to keeping South Wales safe. Our PCSOs and officers are proud to be integral parts of the communities they serve.

We want to ensure our neighbourhood policing is as efficient and effective as it can be, and our aim is to be the best in the country at understanding and responding to the needs and priorities of each individual community. Your local neighbourhood policing team is made up of officers and PCSOs based in your area who are both visible and accessible.

Fundamental to our model of neighbourhood policing is engaging with our communities: connecting with individuals, organisations, businesses, schools, workplaces and others; working to understand, respond to, and tackle your concerns and priorities; and putting measures in place to prevent issues from escalating – or from occurring in the first place.

By working together and focusing on early intervention, prevention and problem solving, we can find long-term solutions to local problems.

Continued patrols of the area and work conducted speaking to local business to build rapports.
Work being conducted with the CRTA (crime reduction tactical advisor) team to work alongside the landowner to deter cars from meeting in this area
CRTA liaising with the local traffic officers to bring them into the local area for patrols

Further patrols will take place around the hotspot time of 19:00 every Saturday and Sunday. Since our last update we have only come across one car meet. We engaged with the drivers to provide suitable words of advice to which they then moved on. We will continue to conduct Hi-Viz patrols.
