Y Cocyd - Cockett
Neighbourhood policing is at the heart of our approach to keeping South Wales safe. Our PCSOs and officers are proud to be integral parts of the communities they serve.
We want to ensure our neighbourhood policing is as efficient and effective as it can be, and our aim is to be the best in the country at understanding and responding to the needs and priorities of each individual community. Your local neighbourhood policing team is made up of officers and PCSOs based in your area who are both visible and accessible.
Fundamental to our model of neighbourhood policing is engaging with our communities: connecting with individuals, organisations, businesses, schools, workplaces and others; working to understand, respond to, and tackle your concerns and priorities; and putting measures in place to prevent issues from escalating – or from occurring in the first place.
By working together and focusing on early intervention, prevention and problem solving, we can find long-term solutions to local problems.
Please note that to report a crime or incident to South Wales Police, you can visit Home | South Wales Police or in an emergency, please dial 999.

Anti-social behaviour - Cefn Coed Hospital Issued 17 June 2025 |
The area has been subject to a problem solving plan to look to reduce the issue and a great reduction in the number of reported incidents was seen involving persons and vehicles. We have frequent conversations with a liaison officer from the facility and when issues are identified we quick to respond. PCSO David Lockett conducts frequent patrols of the area during his day to day activities and we are pleased to say we have not had this issue raised to ourselves in some time. We will continue our action and problem solving with partners. Actioned 12 September 2025 |

Parking concerns Issued 17 June 2025 |
The local neighbourhood policing team have engaged with the school. The school themselves have engaged with parents to encourage considerate parking and to be mindful of the local residents. Frequent patrols are conducted by the police community support officer and local parking enforcement have also been in attendance and we will continue to do so. Actioned 12 September 2025 |
