Dear resident,
PCSO Alcock has been out in Fairwater responding to ongoing community concerns raised about a nuisance vehicle. The van has been parked up on Finchley Road for several months after being hit and damaged by a moving vehicle.
The vehicle has been seized using a devolved power from the DVLA for having expired road tax. This devolved power allows police officers and PCSOs to seize a vehicle once the road tax has expired by 2 months and 1 day.
Now that the road tax on the van has expired by the relevant amount of time, PCSO Alcock used this devolved power to seize the vehicle, which freed up valuable parking space in a residential area.
If you have concerns about a vehicle that is parked on a public highway with no road tax, please don't hesitate to report it for us to investigate.
Kind regards Fairwater Neighbourhood Policing Team (If you require this message in Welsh, please contact us)
