Barry - Burglary Prevention Advice

We are aware of an increase in burglaries in the Barry area and want to share some simple advice to help residents keep their homes secure.

Recent incidents have involved forced entry through rear doors.

🔒Lock doors and windows, even when at home.

🚪Check rear doors and locks are secure.

📹Consider installing CCTV or a video doorbell.

💡Consider security lighting around the rear of your property.

🌳Keep gates and boundaries secure and visible.

🔑Keep keys out of sight and away from doors and letterboxes.

📱Do not advertise absences on social media or leave obvious signs of being away.

Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. This can be done via 101, or 999 in an emergency.
