Grass Fires

Wild grass fires 

Dear resident

We are seeing an increased risk of grass fires in the Tairgwaith area right now due to dry conditions. Even a small spark can spread quickly and put people, wildlife and property at risk.

Please help prevent fires by:

•  Not lighting campfires or BBQs in open grass areas

•  Disposing of cigarettes responsibly - never drop them on the ground

•  Taking all litter home, especially glass bottles which can start fires in sunlight

If you spot a fire:

•  Move to a safe location immediately

•  call emergency services (999) and provide clear details of the location

Grass fires can spread rapidly and change direction without warning. Stay alert and help protect your community.
