Motorcycle theft prevention alert

We have been made aware of a recent attempted theft of a motorbikes in the local area of Gendros.

Officers are currently actively investigating the report.

We have seen an increase in the thefts and attempted thefts of motorcycles, and we are asking owners to remain vigilant and take steps to help protect their bikes.

Some crime prevention advices:

Use a high-quality disc lock, chain and padlock, or ground anchor where possible

Park in a secure garage or well-lit, busy location.

Consider fitting an alarm, immobiliser or GPS tracker.

Cover your motorcycle when parked to make it less attractive to thief's.

Never leave keys in or near your motorcycle, and keep spare keys secure.

If you notice anyone acting suspiciously around motorcycles, or have seen anything that may assist our investigation please report.

If a crime is in progress, or a threat to life or property please call 999.
