Vehicle Break-Ins in North Walk, Barry

South Wales Police are reminding residents in Barry (namely the North Walk area of Barry) to remain vigilant following reports of vehicles being broken into overnight.

We are urging vehicle owners to take simple crime prevention measures to reduce the risk of becoming a victim:

✅ Always lock your vehicle, even when parked outside your home.
✅ Remove all valuables from sight, including bags, wallets, mobile phones and loose change.
✅ Do not leave keys near doors, windows or within view.
✅ Ensure any vehicle security features, alarms and immobilisers are activated.
✅ Consider using steering wheel locks or additional security devices.
✅ Park in well-lit areas where possible and ensure CCTV or doorbell cameras are operational.
✅ Check vehicles before locking and avoid leaving documents containing personal information inside.

Please report any suspicious activity, unknown persons checking vehicle doors, or anyone acting unusually in the area by calling 101, or 999 in an emergency if a crime is in progress.
