Open Water Safety

With the weather being hot, we are aware of an increased amount of people heading for the Margam Open Cast off Crown Road, Kenfig Hill.

We would just like to remind the public that swimming is prohibited in this area and is very dangerous.

Please remind your children of the dangers of open water swimming.

*The water is deeper than it looks

*the shock of cold water can make swimming difficult and increase the difficulty in getting out of the water

*Lack of safety equipment and increased difficulty for rescue.

Please be safe and sensible this summer.
