Knife Crime Awareness Week

Good Evening,

This week is knife crime awareness week. As part of this, officers have conducted a variety of tasks/engagements/educational sessions in the Cynon Valley

We have conducted Joint High visibility patrols with local councillor Addiscott around Trenant and Penywaun, a knife sweep was also conducted during this time along the Tramway in Penywaun.

No knives were seen or seized in this operation.

1 in 100 young people carry a knife so if you or someone you know suspects somebody of carrying a knife or any information please report via 999 or 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111

We are also aware of continued Anti-Social Behaviour including fires and flytipping behind St Winifreds Church  (Oasis) on Heol Bryn Gwyn. If you have children please advise them to stay away from this area as the fires being set in this area could spread dangerously and seriously endanger local residents and anyone instigating the fires.
