I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Road Safety Issues, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.
With temperatures dropping across Swansea, we’re seeing icy and slippery road conditions, particularly during the early morning and late evening.
Please take extra care if you’re travelling: • ❄️ Reduce your speed and leave extra stopping distance • ❄️ Avoid harsh braking and sudden steering • ❄️ Take care on bridges, hills, side roads and shaded areas • ❄️ Make sure your vehicle is winter-ready (tyres, lights, screen wash)
Pedestrians are also advised to take care on icy pavements and footpaths.
If your journey isn’t essential, consider delaying travel until conditions improve.
Let’s work together to keep Swansea safe this winter. 💙 - South Wales Police
