Thank you for responding to our survey. Port Talbot Neighbourhood Policing Team have been working hard to address your concerns regarding vehicles exceeding the 20mph speed limit
On the 24th November officers worked alongside GoSafe Wales and Mid and West Wales Fire Service as part of OP ATAL to advise and educate members of the public who were caught exceeding the 20mph speed limit.
10 vehicles stopped along Baglan Way
9 drivers received roadside educational presentation from the Fire Service *2 at 27mph *1 at 29mph *1 at 30mph *5 at 31mph
*1 at 48mph (passenger in labour appropriate so advice given and sent on their way)
17 vehicles stopped along Caerhendy
15 drivers received roadside educational presentation from the Fire Service *2 at 26mph *1 at 28mph *3 at 29mph *2 at 30mph *3 at 31 mph *4 at 32 mph
*1 at 38mph (driver given a Verbal Traffic Offence Report) *1 in excess of 50 mph (Driver given a Traffic Offence Repot for driving without due care and attention =3 points & £100 fine)
We had a number of local residents expressing their concerns in relation to vehicles travelling at excessive speed along both roads and thanked us for our presence today.
Further OP ATAL operations will be arranged in the coming weeks/months throughout the Port Talbot area
