Thank you for responding to our survey.

We have been working hard in Tonyrefail and Gilfach Goch targeting commercial burglary.

Local officers are aware of the community interest in the recent burglaries at Beyond Balloons.  We are very conscious that Beyond Balloons and Spacehog Sweets have been victims of burglary twice in the last six months and we are working extremely hard to bring those responsible to justice. 

With regards to a burglary that took place at the premises during the summer of 2025, one male person from the Gilfach Goch area has been identified following a DNA match being found at the premises.  The male has been arrested and charged with Burglary and has been subsequently imprisoned for a period of 12 weeks.  

With regards to a more recent burglary at the premises which occurred on 11th October 2025, two male youths have been arrested on Sunday 2nd November 2025.  One youth has been charged with the offence of burglary and a separate shoplifting event which has also taken place within the Tonyrefail area. The other youth remains on Police bail in relation to these offences. 

A further 4 youths remain outstanding in relation to these incidents and enquiries continue in a bid to identify all of the persons responsible.  

We appeal to you, as the local community not to speculate publicly regarding these events, however to contact us if you have any knowledge or information regarding the persons responsible.
