A timely room inspection by a hotel housekeeper has led to the demise of two Cardiff drug dealers.

Keiran McCoy, 20, and Zack Tawton, 21, had checked into the Ibis Cardiff Gate hotel for five days under false name on September 5, 2024. On September 7, they left their room only for a housekeeper stumble upon their drugs operation.

Cocaine had been left on the hotel dresser and golf-ball-size packages were on the floor, along with more than 100 grip seal bags of the class A drug. Quick-thinking staff at the hotel managed to capture video footage of their whole operation and the police were called.

Following their arrests, both pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine, as well as other offences and have been jailed.

Roedd Keiran McCoy, 20, a Zack Tawton, 21, wedi gwirio i mewn i westy Ibis Cardiff Gate am bum niwrnod dan enw ffug ar Fedi 5, 2024. Ar Fedi 7, dim ond er mwyn i wraig cadw tŷ faglu ar eu llawdriniaeth gyffuriau y gadawsant eu hystafell.

Roedd cocên wedi’i adael ar ddreser y gwesty ac roedd pecynnau maint pêl golff ar y llawr, ynghyd â mwy na 100 o fagiau sêl gafael o’r cyffur dosbarth A.

Llwyddodd staff meddwl cyflym yn y gwesty i ddal ffilm fideo o'u holl waith a chafodd yr heddlu eu galw.

Yn dilyn eu harestiadau, plediodd y ddau yn euog i fod yn bryderus am gyflenwi cocên, yn ogystal â throseddau eraill ac maen nhw wedi cael eu carcharu.
