We are working hard to tackle speeding along the Bridgend Road, Newton, Porthcawl. A speed scoping exercise was conducted on Sunday 6th April 2025 with the following outcome:

Time start: 14:07

Time finish: 14:27

Number of vehicles checked: 100

Posted speed limit: 20mph

Average speed: 21.49mph

Highest recorded speed: 36mph

Warning letters will be issued to motorists recorded driving excessively over the posted speed limit.

If you have speeding concerns surrounding a particular area in Porthcawl, please respond to this message with the street/road name. Consideration will be given to conducting speed scoping surveys in areas where there is the greatest concern.
