Recent South Wales Police had the honour of hosting a Somaliland Police Delegation who were visiting to get an insight into our Counter Terrorism and Neighbourhood policing model.

During the two-part presentation ACC Maal gave an insight into South Wales Police and its communities covering -

Then Chief Inspector McDean gave an input on Clear. Hold. Build national project within Butetown.

After the Presentation had taken place the Crime Commissioner for Somaliland a brief history of Somaliland and their relationship with the United Kingdom and looking forward with working with the UK government and South Wales Police before adding -

“Thank you for hosting us in your wonderful city”

The Somaliland Counter Terrorism Officers said

“A privilege to be here and thank you very much for hosting us and giving an insight into South Wales Police, how you serve your local community, and we look forward to future collaboration work through training of our front-line officers”.

The Delegation where then taken around Butetown to visit communities and schools.

Thank you for your help. It is only by the police and the public working together that we can prevent and detect crime.
