Need to make an emergency call and can't speak? Use silent 55

Silent 55

Hello Resident

#SexualAbuseAndSexualViolenceAwarenessWeek | Did you know, dialling 55 after 999 alerts our Public Service Centre (PSC) that you need help, but in a situation where you can’t talk.

These calls were mostly from people suffering domestic abuse, who needed to escape and needed our help.

Our call handlers will, as quick as they can, try and track your location. If you can’t speak to our call handlers, try and listen carefully to the questions they ask, so they can get the help you need.

We want to help end violence against women and girls.
