Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is extremely dangerous, and not just to yourself – but also to other innocent road users.
Our campaign to combat drink and drug-driving across the festive period, Operation Limit, has led to our Roads Policing Unit having been busy stopping drivers, checking they’re not driving under the influence.
Although the festive celebrations might nearly be over, it doesn’t mean #OpLimit is. Officers continue to patrol our roads in marked and unmarked vehicles, acting on information received to target offenders.
Thousands of vehicles have been stopped, dozens of tests have been done and a number of arrests have been made.
⚫ Designate a driver and plan your journey before going out. Don’t drink drive. ⚫ If you’re going out over new year and are the designated driver, do not drink or drug drive. Our Designated Driver Scheme, where designated drivers are able to enjoy free soft drinks throughout their time at a participating venue
