We hope this letter finds you well and are writing to bring to your attention an important matter regarding the ongoing issue of vehicles being parked on pavements within the Treharris and surrounding areas… particularly “Fiddlers Elbow” in Quakers Yard.

Parking on pavements poses significant safety concerns, particularly for vulnerable members of our community such as children, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities. When vehicles block pavements, it forces pedestrians onto the road, putting them at risk of accidents and creating an unsafe environment for everyone.

In addition, pavement parking can damage public property, including kerbs and footpaths, which leads to costly repairs that impact all of us.

We kindly request that all residents refrain from parking on pavements to ensure clear, accessible pathways for everyone. Merthyr Neighbourhood Policing Team will be monitoring the situation closely in the coming weeks, and vehicles found obstructing pavements may be subject to further action such as a Fixed Penalty Ticket.

We understand that parking can be limited, and we appreciate your cooperation in finding suitable alternatives that do not interfere with pedestrian pathways. By working together, we can keep our neighbourhood safe and accessible for all.

Mae parcio ar balmentydd yn peri pryderon diogelwch sylweddol, yn enwedig i aelodau bregus o'n cymuned fel plant, yr henoed, ac unigolion ag anableddau. Pan fydd cerbydau'n blocio palmentydd, mae'n gorfodi cerddwyr ar y ffordd, gan eu rhoi mewn perygl o ddamweiniau a chreu amgylchedd anniogel i bawb.

Yn ogystal, gall parcio palmant niweidio eiddo cyhoeddus, gan gynnwys cyrbau a llwybrau troed, sy'n arwain at atgyweiriadau costus sy'n effeithio ar bob un ohonom.

Gofynnwn yn garedig i bob preswylydd ymatal rhag parcio ar balmentydd er mwyn sicrhau llwybrau clir a hygyrch i bawb. Bydd Tîm Plismona Bro Merthyr yn monitro'r sefyllfa'n agos yn ystod yr wythnosau nesaf, ac efallai y bydd cerbydau sy'n rhwystro palmentydd yn destun camau pellach fel Tocyn Cosb Benodedig.
