Neges Ddwyieithog / Bilingual Message. Crime prevention message
Dear resident, Just so you are aware. If you know for a fact you did not buy anything online or you were not expecting anything to be delivered to you, but your local delivery driver is trying to deliver a packet to you, first check to see if there is a return address on the packet and if there isn’t one you should refuse it straight away. If the packet was left outside and you open it, there may be a note asking you to scan the barcode. However, under no circumstances should you scan that barcode. What would happen if you scanned the barcode? All the apps, including any banking apps you may have on your phone, would be downloaded to the person who sent you the package. Please be very careful when scanning barcodes on flyers or leaflets that may come through your door or if you see them when you are out and about.
