Positive Action - Shoplifting Update

BILINGUAL MESSAGE / NEGES DWYIEITHOG

Hello Resident

Further to our message earlier this week regarding shoplifting and the impact on communities and local businesses where we advised that Merthyr Policing Teams continue to disrupt offenders, actioning the reports and information we received… we have an update for you!

Yesterday, Thursday 28th November 2024, Lisa DAVIES (39) from the Caerphilly area, was found guilty of a number of high-value shoplifting offences across the South Wales area including, several offences in Merthyr which exceeded several thousands of pounds in value.

As a result, the courts have sentenced DAVIES to 44 weeks in prison and we would like to thank local businesses who supported South Wales Police in providing the appropriate CCTV evidence and supporting information leading to her subsequent arrest and conviction.

Shoplifting erodes trust and safety, creating an environment of insecurity and we would encourage you to continue reporting all incidents to us along with any information you feel is relevant to the investigation of these offences.

Gweithredu Cadarnhaol - Codi Siopau Diweddaraf

Shwmae Resident

Ymhellach i'n neges yn gynharach yr wythnos hon ynglŷn â chodi siopau a'r effaith ar gymunedau a busnesau lleol lle gwnaethom gynghori bod Timau Plismona Merthyr yn parhau i darfu ar droseddwyr, gan weithredu'r adroddiadau a'r wybodaeth a dderbyniwyd... Mae gennym y wybodaeth ddiweddaraf i chi!

Ddoe, dydd Iau 28 Tachwedd 2024, cafwyd Lisa DAVIES (39) o ardal Caerffili yn euog o nifer o droseddau codi siopau gwerth uchel ar draws ardal De Cymru, gan gynnwys sawl trosedd ym Merthyr a ragorodd ar filoedd o bunnoedd mewn gwerth.

O ganlyniad, mae'r llysoedd wedi dedfrydu DAVIES i 44 wythnos yn y carchar a hoffem ddiolch i fusnesau lleol a gefnogodd Heddlu De Cymru i ddarparu'r dystiolaeth CCTV briodol a gwybodaeth ategol a arweiniodd at ei harestio a'i euogfarn ddilynol.

Mae codi siopau yn erydu ymddiriedaeth a diogelwch, gan greu amgylchedd o ansicrwydd a byddem yn eich annog i barhau i riportio pob digwyddiad i ni ynghyd ag unrhyw wybodaeth rydych chi'n teimlo sy'n berthnasol i'r ymchwiliad i'r troseddau hyn.
