Crime alert | Burglaries in Cardiff & Penarth / Rhybudd trosedd | Byrgleriaethau yng Nghaerdydd a Phenarth

Spate of burglaries in Cardiff & Penarth under investigation

Hello Resident

South Wales Police is investigating numerous burglaries that have taken place in Cardiff and Penarth recently, where car keys and cars have been stolen. Homes in Cardiff Bay, Penarth, Penylan, Whitchurch, Rhiwbina and Llanedeyrn have been targeted.

It is believed the same individual or individuals are responsible. They are gaining quick entry through unlocked doors during the evening and night-time and making off with valuables, car keys and then the owner’s car.
Please make sure your doors are locked and keep car keys hidden and out of sight. Makes of cars that have been stolen include Mazda MX5, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, and Volkswagen.

Detective Inspector Phil Marchant: “An investigation is ongoing to identify and locate those responsible for these recent burglaries, but in the meantime, I’d like to stress to residents just how important it is that their belongings, particularly car keys, are stored safely –even while in their own home.”

Advice to protect your property:

- Keep doors locked, even if you're home
- Keep vehicle keys and valuables out of sight
- If you have CCTV, ensure that it is turned on and recording
- If you have an external light, ensure it is switched on.

If you notice any suspicious behaviour or vehicles, then please report this to us.

Shwmae Resident

Mae Heddlu De Cymru yn ymchwilio i nifer o fyrgleriaethau sydd wedi digwydd yng Nghaerdydd a Phenarth yn ddiweddar, lle mae allweddi ceir a cheir wedi’u dwyn. Mae cartrefi ym Mae Caerdydd, Penarth, Pen-y-lan, yr Eglwys Newydd, Rhiwbeina a Llanedern wedi cael eu targedu.

Credir mai'r un unigolyn neu unigolion sy'n gyfrifol. Maent yn cael mynediad cyflym trwy ddrysau heb eu cloi gyda'r nos ac yn ystod y nos ac yn cychwyn gydag eitemau gwerthfawr, allweddi car ac yna car y perchennog. Gwnewch yn siŵr bod eich drysau wedi'u cloi a chadwch allweddi'r car yn gudd ac o'r golwg. Ymhlith y mathau o geir sydd wedi'u dwyn mae Mazda MX5, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, a Volkswagen.

Ditectif Arolygydd Phil Marchant: “Mae ymchwiliad ar y gweill i nodi a lleoli’r rhai sy’n gyfrifol am y byrgleriaethau diweddar hyn, ond yn y cyfamser, hoffwn bwysleisio i drigolion pa mor bwysig yw hi bod eu heiddo, yn enwedig allweddi car, yn cael eu storio’n ddiogel. – hyd yn oed tra yn eu cartref eu hunain.”

Cyngor i ddiogelu eich eiddo:

- Cadwch ddrysau ar glo, hyd yn oed os ydych gartref

- Cadwch allweddi'r cerbyd a phethau gwerthfawr o'r golwg

- Os oes gennych deledu cylch cyfyng, sicrhewch ei fod wedi'i droi ymlaen a'i recordio

- Os oes gennych olau allanol, sicrhewch ei fod wedi'i droi ymlaen.

Os byddwch yn sylwi ar unrhyw ymddygiad neu gerbydau amheus, yna rhowch wybod i ni.
