Dear Resident, I want to remind you that this matter has still been brought to my attention. I would like to remind everyone to be aware of people knocking on doors asking to do work for a reasonable price, and at the end of the job they tend to charge a ridiculous high price which you weren’t expecting or agreed up on. This is a serious issue in the community, please be aware and do not let anyone you don’t know or never seen before do any work on your property for you. If they knock on your door and you say you are not interested, shut your door soon after. Do not engage in any further conversation with them. If you did decide to allow them to carry out work, make sure to get every bit of their details such as their vehicle registration number, first and last name, their full address and a contact phone number. If they give you their mobile phone number, make sure to ring it while they are with you to see if they are going to answer. If they give you a land line number, call it and ask for the person by their first and last name that they have provided you with. Please be mindful if you see them carrying out work on your neighbor's property and they are knocking on your door wanting to do work. Even though they are working on your neighbor's property, follow the steps above as you haven't seen them before. They may do a good job at your neighbor's house, but it doesn't necessarily mean they will do the same for you. Any question you may have please feel free to get in contact with me by responding to this message. | ||||
