Within recent weeks, the neighbourhood beat manager for Pontyclun, Llanharry, Llanharan and Brynna and PCSOs gave support to a local ‘Pass Wide and Slow’ event. This event was aimed at raising awareness around recent changes made to the highway code that are intended to keep motorists, pedestrians, riders and cyclists safe on our roads.
PCSO Edwards is Taff NPT Team 1's very own avid equestrian. As such, she used her broad skills and experience in this area to join the group on the ride to show solidarity with our communities, and the very good cause raised by our partners within Brynna-Taff-Ely Bridleways Group.
When you see a horse on a road, you should slow down to a maximum of 10mph. You should be patient, and avoid sounding your horn or revving your engine. When it is safe to do so, you should pass wide and slow, allowing at least 2 meters of space.
To keep yourself and others safe, we really hope you will follow this advice and the changes to the highway code!
Attached are some fantastic pictures from the event to showcase the good work Taff NPT Team 1 conducted on the day.
