Incident | Llanrumney (Update 06/09)


A man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Llanrumney. At around 11.50am on Wednesday we were called to a report of a fight in Glastonbury Terrace, Llanrumney.


A 50-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent (GBH) and is in police custody. Both men are known to each other.


Detective Inspector Phil Marchant, from South Wales Police, said: “We appreciate this incident has caused concern locally and there has been an increased police presence while arrest enquiries have been conducted. The support of the local community during our investigation this week has been very much appreciated.”

Cafodd dyn 50 oed ei gludo i’r ysbyty gydag anafiadau nad ydyn nhw’n bygwth bywyd. Mae dyn 29 oed wedi’i arestio ar amheuaeth o glwyfo’n fwriadol (GBH) ac mae yn nalfa’r heddlu. Mae'r ddau ddyn yn adnabyddus i'w gilydd.

 

Dywedodd Ditectif Arolygydd Phil Marchant o Heddlu De Cymru: “Rydym yn gwerthfawrogi bod y digwyddiad hwn wedi achosi pryder yn lleol a bod presenoldeb yr heddlu wedi cynyddu wrth i ymholiadau arestio gael eu cynnal. Mae cefnogaeth y gymuned leol yn ystod ein hymchwiliad yr wythnos hon wedi’i werthfawrogi’n fawr.”
