Please see the below update in relation to the recent drugs warrant conducted by the Merthyr Neighbourhood Policing Team in the Gurnos.

 

#JAILED | David Jones, 35 has been jailed after dealing crack and heroin from his Gurnos flat.

 

Jones, from Merthyr was arrested on December 8 when officers conducted a warrant.

 

Inside was up to £10,000 of heroin, cocaine, and crack cocaine, including, cigarette papers containing brown powder, bags of white rocks, and £421 in cash.

 

Further drugs were found along with weighing scales and mobile phones, which had incriminating evidence showing Jones’ involvement with dealing. The estimated street value of the heroin seized was nearly £8000.

 

Jones, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of crack with intent to supply, and possession of heroin with intent to supply. He has been sentenced to three years imprisonment.

 

Inspector Jon Duckham said, “This case is yet further evidence of the action we take to crack down on organised crime in Merthyr. Cafwyd hyd i ragor o gyffuriau ynghyd â phwyso graddfeydd a ffonau symudol, a oedd â thystiolaeth argyhoeddiadol yn dangos cysylltiad Jones â delio. Roedd amcangyfrif o werth stryd yr heroin a atafaelwyd bron i £8000.

 

Plediodd Jones yn euog i fod â chocên yn ei feddiant gyda'r bwriad o gyflenwi, meddu ar graciau gyda'r bwriad o'i gyflenwi, a bod â heroin yn ei feddiant gyda'r bwriad o'i gyflenwi. Mae wedi ei ddedfrydu i dair blynedd o garchar.
