Black Friday Fake emails

Action Fraud has received 2,035 reports about Black Friday scam emails.

The emails will ask you to click on a link which will direct you to a convincing looking website, where the criminals will steal your personal and financial data.

These type of scams will increase in frequency as we approach Christmas so please be careful when receiving e mails offering bargains or products at greatly reduced prices.

Never click on links from non trusted sites, instead go the company website or app and check prices and offers there.

You can report suspicious emails by forwarding to -  report@phishing.gov.uk

If you think that you may have been a victim of this or any other type of scam, then contact your Bank immediately, which you can do by calling 159 and report it to Action Fraud at Reporting fraud and cyber crime | Action Fraud or call 0300 123 2040

Negeseuon e-bost ffug Dydd Gwener Gwyllt

Mae Action Fraud wedi derbyn 2,035 o adroddiadau am negeseuon e-bost Dydd Gwener Gwyllt twyllodrus. Bydd yr e-bost yn gofyn i chi glicio ar ddolen a fydd yn mynd â chi i wefan sy'n ymddangos yn argyhoeddiadol, lle bydd y troseddwyr yn dwyn eich data personol ac ariannol. Bydd y mathau hyn o sgamiau yn cynyddu'n aml wrth i ni agosáu at y Nadolig, felly byddwch yn ofalus wrth dderbyn negeseuon e-bost sy'n cynnig bargenion neu gynhyrchion am brisiau wedi'u gostwng yn sylweddol.

Peidiwch byth â chlicio ar ddolenni o safleoedd annibynadwy, yn lle hynny, ewch i wefan neu ap y cwmni a gwirio'r prisiau a'r cynigion sydd yno. Gallwch roi gwybod am negeseuon e-bost amheus drwy eu hanfon ymlaen i report@phishing.gov.uk.

Holiday Scams

There has been a reported increase of holiday/travel scams.

This is the time of year when people are booking a Christmas break or looking to book a summer holiday, and scammers are targeting the holiday trade to steal your money.

Contact is usually initiated through email or WhatsApp and the fraudsters will provide the recipient with deals on travel that are considerably cheaper than other sites and then add time pressures, stating the deal is only available for a limited time.

When payment is provided, the victim is instructed to pay it directly into a personal account.

Scammers are also adding layers of authenticity by creating fraudulent travel websites, designed to capture personal information, and the sites are prompted through paid Google Ads.

Once again, this is a scam targeted at those looking to get a cheaper deal during the cost-of-living crisis. Always think, if it seems too good to be true it probably is and keep safe on line.

Twyll Gwyliau

Adroddwyd cynnydd yn y sgamiau gwyliau/teithio. Ar yr adeg hon o'r flwyddyn, wrth i bobl drefnu egwyl dros y Nadolig neu ystyried trefnu gwyliau haf, mae sgamwyr yn targedu'r fasnach wyliau i ddwyn eich arian. Fel arfer, bydd y twyllwyr yn cysylltu drwy e-bost neu WhatsApp a byddant yn rhoi manylion i'r derbynnydd am fargenion ar deithio sydd gryn dipyn yn rhatach na safleoedd eraill ac yna'n ychwanegu pwysau amser, gan nodi bod y fargen ond ar gael am gyfnod cyfyngedig. Pan ddarperir tâl, bydd y dioddefwr yn cael cyfarwyddyd i'w dalu'n syth i gyfrif personol.

Mae sgamwyr hefyd yn ychwanegu haenau o ddilysrwydd trwy greu gwefannau teithio twyllodrus, sydd wedi'u dylunio i gipio gwybodaeth bersonol, a chaiff y safleoedd eu cymell trwy Google Ads y talwyd amdanynt. Unwaith eto, sgam yw hon sydd wedi'i thargedu at bobl sy'n chwilio am fargen yn ystod yr argyfwng costau byw. Ystyriwch bob amser, os yw'n swnio'n rhy dda i fod yn wir, fwy na thebyg ei fod felly. Cadwch yn ddiogel ar-lein.
